CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK
Name: Bryan Carney
Sport: Baseball
Hometown / High School: Grosse Pointe Woods / Grosse Pointe North
Accomplishments: Carney threw seven and one-third innings to earn the win in UOlivet’s 6-1 victory over Kalamazoo College. He scattered two hits, while striking out 12 batters and walking nobody. Carney threw 88 pitches, with 62 strikes.
CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK
Name: Owen Fremeau
Sport: Track & Field
Hometown / High School: Jackson / Western
Accomplishments: Fremeau took first in the hammer throw and shot put at the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. His winning mark (200 feet, 3 inches) in the hammer was both a UOlivet and MIAA Outdoor Championships record. Fremeau also placed seventh in the discus throw.
FEMALE COMET OF THE WEEK
Name: Aubrey Connelly
Sport: Track & Field
Hometown / High School: Grant Twp. / Crosswell-Lexington
Accomplishments: At the 2026 MIAA Field Day, Connelly finished second in the javelin with a 107 foot, 8-inch throw and placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles. In the 400 hurdle prelims, she posted the third-fastest time in school history at 1:09.68. Connelly also ran on the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays.
