FEMALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Kenzie Gray
Sport: Indoor Track & Field
Hometown / High School: Ottawa Lake / Whiteford
Accomplishments: On Friday afternoon at the Saginaw Valley State University Jet’s Pizza Invitational, she threw a personal-best mark of 42 feet, 11-3/4 inches in the weight throw. The performance moved her up to No. 8 on the UOlivet all-time Top 10 list.

CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Gabriel Gibbons
Sport: Wrestling
Hometown / High School: Wyandotte / Roosevelt
Accomplishments: Wrestling at 149 pounds, he pinned Jaymes Wildfong from Alma College in 58 seconds. The pin started a string of seven straight wins for the Comets, as they defeated the Scots, 39-12. Gibbons has an 11-6 record this season, scoring bonus points in eight of the wins.

CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Nathan Richardson
Sport: Basketball
Hometown / High School: Flint / Grand Blanc
Accomplishments: Averaged 23.5 points in leading the men’s basketball team to a pair of wins to extend its winning streak to six games. Scored 29 points in a 76-69 win at Calvin University and followed that performance with 18 points in an 82-75 win at Kalamazoo College. For the week, he made 16-of-25 baskets (64 percent), including six-of-10 from behind the arc, and 9-of-13 free throws. Richardson’s other statistics included eight assists and three steals, while only committing five turnovers in 75 minutes.
