Comets of the Week - October 7, 2024
The Female Comet of the Week is sophomore women’s volleyball player Julia Hall, of Battle Creek, and graduate of Pennfield High School. Last week, Hall averaged 12.5 kills in helping Olivet split its first two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association matches. In a four-set loss against Adrian College, she pounded down 11 kills with two errors for a .429 attack percentage. Hall followed that with 14 kills and .583 attack percentage in a four-set win at Kalamazoo College. The .583 hitting percentage ranks sixth for a single match since the 2004 season. In eight sets, she totaled 25 kills, with two errors on 45 attempts for a .511 attack percentage, and recorded seven blocks (three solo and four assisted).
The Male Comet of the Week is sophomore linebacker Draven Langston, of Tecumseh, and graduate of Tecumseh High School. Langston led the Comet defense with 13 total tackles, including nine solo stops, in a 45-12 win over Kalamazoo College. Of his 13 stops, two were for negative 10 yards. Langston also recovered a fumble.
