Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - January 9, 2023

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is junior Lily Connelly, of Grant Township, and graduate of Crosswell-Lexington High School. She averaged 14.5 points and six rebounds over two games for the women’s basketball team. Connelly scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Adrian College and followed that with four points and four rebounds against Hope College. For the week, she also had six assists and four assists, while posting a 52.4 field goal percentage (11-of-21).

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is junior Donovan King, of Detroit, and graduate of Farmington High School. Wrestling at 285 pounds, King posted a 4-0 record last week. He started the week with a 16-0 technical fall win over Joe Maier in Olivet’s 46-3 win over Alma College. King followed that with three pins at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships. The pins came at 55 seconds, 2:12 and 3:29.
