Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - November 1, 2021

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is freshman Abbey Peters, of Olivet, and graduate of Olivet High School. Peters finished 41st of 126 runners to lead the women’s cross country team at the 2021 MIAA Championship. Her time – 25 minutes and 8.3 seconds – was a season-best for a 6K course.

The first Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is junior Chase Mendham, of Coopersville, and graduate of Coopersville High School. Mendham placed 21st of 114 runners to help the men’s cross country team finish fourth at the 2021 MIAA Championship. His time – 26 minutes and 34.37 seconds – was a personal best for an 8K course. Olivet’s fourth-place finish was the second-best in school history at the MIAA Championship.
