Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - February 8, 2021
This week’s Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is senior Kyle McDowell, of Kalkaska, and graduate of Kalkaska High School. At the Trine Indoor Meet, McDowell won the 400-meter dash in 50.59 seconds. He then helped Olivet win the 4x400-meter relay, which finished the race in 3:30.54 seconds. McDowell’s 400-meter time is the fastest in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association this winter.
This week’s Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is senior DeeDee Post, of Columbus, Ohio, and graduate of Westerville North High School. Post averaged 11 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in the women’s basketball team’s first two games of the 2020-21 season. She scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and made two steals against Calvin University, and followed that with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals against Alma College.
