Softball team swept by Trine
The Olivet College softball team dropped both games of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader to Trine (Ind.) University, 34-0 and 19-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team dropped both games of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader to Trine (Ind.) University, 34-0 and 19-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
In the first game, senior Ciara Santos (Lansing/Everett) had the Comets' only hit. She also reached base safely in her second plate appearance after being hit by a pitch. Sophomore Jessica Duell (Ionia) was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, Santos was on base in two of her three plate appearances, with a single in the first and a walk in the third. Senior Alison Iuelle (Kentwood/Kelloggsville) recorded Olivet's other hit. Duell also picked-up the pitching loss.
The Comets will play their four league doubleheaders on the road, beginning Wednesday when they play at Calvin College. First pitch from game one is slated for 3:30 p.m.
