ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to North Central (Ill.) College, 76-54, tonight at the M-Club Classic, hosted by University of Mount Union (Ohio) in Alliance, Ohio.
The Comets raced out to a 7-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game. The Cardinals went on a 10-4 run to take the lead, 12-11. North Central led by 12 points, 32-20, at halftime.
Olivet opened the second half with 10 straight points to come within a basket, 32-30. The Cardinals answered with their own +10 scoring sport to go back up 12 points, 46-34.
Freshman Matt Subject and sophomore Kevin Woodson each scored 12 points to lead the Comets. Senior DeOndre Callahan contributed eight points. Sophomore Eric Ewing grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
For North Central, Charlie Rosenberg led all scorers with 22 points. He also dished out nine assists. Jack Burchett chipped in 19 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Olivet battles the host Purple Raiders tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
