Women’s tennis team, seven players earn ITA academic honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Olivet College women's tennis team and seven players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in 2016-17.

Led by head coach Andrew Debruyn, the team posted a 3.540 grade point average (GPA) to receive the ITA All-Academic Team award. This award is given to any ITA program that has a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above. The GPAs for all players on the official eligibility list and also earned a varsity letter are used to determine the official team GPA.

The seven players receiving ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades are Rae Claramunt, Maddy Drikakis, Rachael Hager, Miranda Pier, BreAnne Rudlaff, Isabel Snyder and Sydnie Weller. To be selected the player must have a 3.50 or higher GPA for the current academic year, be a varsity letterwinner and been enrolled at his current school for at least two semesters.

Drikakis and Rudlaff have received the award for three consecutive years. Hager and Snyder are two-time recipients.
