NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Two first half goals were the difference, as the Olivet College women's soccer team fell to Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 2-0, this afternoon at the SMC Soccer Field in Notre Dame, Ind.
The Belles scored their first goal in the 26th minute on an unassisted tally by Kathryn Lueking. They added to their a little over 10 minutes later at the 35:59 mark on another unassisted goal, this one by Maggie McLaughlin.
The Comets recorded 10 shots in the game, with sophomore Kaylee Liddle (Clarkston) and junior Lindsey Winters (Plymouth/Canton) each collecting two. Six others had one apiece. Freshman Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) was the keeper for the whole game. She faced 17 shots and made four saves.
Olivet continues its busy week Thursday when it travels to play Alma College. Game time at Scotland Yard is 4 p.m.
