Olivet College women’s soccer team to host Comet Cup
The Olivet College women’s soccer program will kick-off the 2012 season by hosting the 2012 Comet Club Friday and Saturday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Participating in the tournament are the Comets and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Trine (Ind.) University, as well as Manchester (Ind.) University and Milwaukee (Wis.) School of Engineering (MSOE).
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer program will kick-off the 2012 season by hosting the 2012 Comet Club Friday and Saturday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Participating in the tournament are the Comets and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Trine (Ind.) University, as well as Manchester (Ind.) University and Milwaukee (Wis.) School of Engineering (MSOE).
Friday's first game starts at 4 p.m. and features Olivet vs. MSOE. Manchester and Trine play in the second game at approximately 6 p.m.
Saturday's action gets started with Trine playing MSOE at 3 p.m., and the tournament wraps-up with Olivet facing Manchester at approximately 5 p.m. NOTE: The start times for Saturday's games have been moved up one hour from previously announced start times.

Under the direction of 13th-year Head Coach Hans Morgan, Olivet welcomes back 10 letterwinners. The Comets will be led by seniors Madison Forsyth and Becca Gaarde. Also back is junior Lindsey Winters who led Olivet with four goals in 2011. The Comets were picked to finish eighth in the MIAA preseason coaches poll.
Andrew Stout is in his fifth season leading Manchester. A talented sophomore class leads the Spartans. Forward Breanna McLane finished the 2011 season with three goals and four assists for 10 points. Sara Barker is one of two seniors on the roster and is expected to lead the backline behind sophomore goalkeeper Emily Willmann, who finished last season with a 1.07 goals against average. Manchester was picked fifth in the preseason Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference poll.
