Women’s lacrosse team comes up short against Adrian, 13-1

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) leader Adrian College, 13-1, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

The Bulldogs led 9-0 at halftime and built their lead to 12-0 at the 18:59 mark of the second half. Sophomore Taylor Guarnaccia scored the Comets' only goal with 16:52 left in the game. Adrian capped the scoring with a goal seven minutes later.

Olivet finished the game with eight shots, placing six on-goal. Freshman Ana Gomez led the way with three total shots, while Guarnaccia and sophomore Geri Merrell each had two. Sophomore Sarah Shaw made three saves in goal.

The Comets will take a break from MIAA play when they host Pacific (Ore.) University Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
