Women’s golfers named to NGCA All-American Scholar Team
OLIVET, Mich. -- Three Olivet College women's golfers -- Lauren Campbell (Fenton), Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston ) were named to the 2010-11 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Conrad was a senior captain on last year's team, while Campbell and Jones will be a senior and sophomore, respectively, on the 2011-12 team.
The criteria for selection is a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and the student-athlete must have competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
Conrad was a business administration major. Campbell is a biology major, and Jones is majoring in sports and recreation. They helped the Comets earn their fifth straight trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships May 10-12 at the Mission Inn Resort and El Campeon Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., where they finished in a tie for 10th-place. Olivet advanced to the national championships via an at-large berth after placing second in both the 2010 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings and spring NCAA championship qualifying rounds.
