FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Olivet College baseball team was shutout by Augustana (Ill.) College, 5-0, this morning at the Gene Cusic Classic and inside Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Vikings scored two runs in the second inning, an unearned run in the third and two runs in the sixth for their five runs. The Comets had only one base runner reach third base in the game.
For the game, Olivet had just two hits, a double by sophomore Andrew Engle (Greenville) in the third inning and a single by junior Randy Young (Wixom/Walled Lake Western) in the sixth. Junior Kyle Fisher (Vermontville/Maple Valley) went six innings on the mound, and was charged with the loss and allowed the five runs on six hits.
The Comets will wrap-up their spring break trip to Fort Myers tomorrow with a 9 a.m. game against Lawrence (Wis.) University.
